Morning! I love happy stories, happy endings and stories of love and romance! Last night I went to my first *ever* engagement party for Loan & Ewen, whom have actually been engaged since the start of the year, but last night, officially decided to tell their friends and family that they were getting married! And im so so happy for them :)

It was a cosy little affair at Ewen's house, with pretty little table decorations of candles and flowers (sorry i didnt take a picture), lots of yummy food (the *bestest* potato salad that i have eaten in my entire life!), a rather sweet looking and tasting toffee pudding cake, and 50% of guests (ewen's friends) that i have never met in my life :)

Actually, it was a rather surreal experience, because many of the people at the party had brought their children and babies, and many were also married or engaged. It was kind of strange, because most of the events/parties that i've ever been to had always consisted of single/attached people that had no weddings in sight, and who often spent the night checking out other people. Last night was really different though, with parents running after their children, children making cute little messes, and wedding rings everywhere...

And then it occurred to me that weddings and engagements dont necessarily signal the end of youth, the end of independence, but is actually the *official* union of two people, their friends and their families, as well as the *start* of a life previously unexperienced :)

SO anyways, its much to early to ramble about things like this, so ill just end off with a picture of the happy couple :) *congratulations!*

Lately ive become more and more fascinated with the japanese culture, and the people, and basically everything Japanese. Part of this interest can be attributed to christine's blog as at JET in Japan, but also in my coversations with Mike, who has also been interested in Japan/China/Taiwan. All these discussions with people have made me more and more open to new things, and especially interested in immersing myself in the culture that is japanese - inherently strange and wacky yet extremely polite, western and modernised by asian standards but eastern and asian by western standards - To me, Japan doesnt seem to fit into any other culture category. It's as if its a whole other world, a world far removed from every other nation on this planet - and that's what makes me want to go to Japan!

I did get my nova application forms last month, but unfortunately I am not eligible to apply for the nova program just yet because the requirements have changed such that I now require a degree before I actually apply.. JET has yet to open, but im quite scared of the JET program application process because so many people apply, and yet so few actually proceed to go to Japan.. *eek*. But all in all, the idea and notion of being in another country, learning the culture, teaching them your own, and being a free spirit really excited me! It's so far removed from the daily 9-5 grind that is corporate life, and I guess being the uncommitted one that "never wants to grow up", it seems like an adventure to be had :)

That said, even if I dont get to do the teaching in Japan program, Im hoping to go to Japan next year with Jezka as her brother is currently doing the Nova program over there. *OOOH* excitement.!

Are all breakups insensitive? My friends and I are discussing the insensitive nature of breakups, and how most of the time, the person doing the breakup always does it in insensitive ways, including sms text messages, icq messages, deliverance through friends, and similar ways.. and i was just wondering..

Do people act insensitively during breakup time so that the other doesnt get funny feelings or misunderstanding, or do they do it because they can't deal with the fact that they are hurting somebody, or they just do it because they have come to a point where they no longer like/love a person and now just loathe them and want to get rid of them?

I think its extremely sad that what was once the notion of two people who liked/loved each other so much they were prepared to devote their time, their effort, and their commitment to another, could end up breaking up over something as impersonal as an sms text. And it all seems to end there. Most breakups end off with a "sorry we have to break up " proceeded by weeks of deliberately ignoring the hurt person's phone calls, deliberately acting like a prick to the other person, or just plain not acknowledging that the other even exists.

*sigh* relationships and breakups are even harder!

Im about to head out to uni to meet Jess to go shopping today and it occurred to me that we are both extremely fickle, and probably way too impulsive to shop together :S Just inside my door, i have compiled a couple of bags of things that we are exchanging/returning, of which includes

- my white mng cardigan sweater (the infamous subject of my "buyers remorse" post which i will return to mng
- tommy hilfiger preppy navy sweater - which i had asked jess to get for me if she was going to be in the city, but which ended up too big for me anyways :(
- my sass and bide lifeking teeshirt from the sass and bide sale, which i am now swapping for jess' peach one
- and one ugly bag (which i will blog about another time!)

*sigh* and all this in a period of one (plus a bit) week.. *sigh*. Anyways, today im going to do a very very good thing and leave my cards at home. I think that's a start dontcha ;)

Today i went to curtin university to do a little bit of study - well *attempted* is the better word, because after thirty minutes I almost fell asleep .. after 2 hours, i took the car keys and napped in the car :S *shocking eh*

Anyways, when i was there, I had to go to the toilet, and as the level 2 toilets were the closest ones, i went there. To my shock, horror and amusement, the toilet cubicle looked as if someone had either 1. missed the toilet 2. couldn't hold it in 3.just messy because all around the toilet was toilet paper on the floor.. not just any toilet paper, but a whole bunch of toilet paper that seemed to be *mopping* up the watery mess there. And it SMELT awful :S

Please please please, if you ever miss the toilet basin, please *attempt* to clean it up more, not just leave the tissues on the ground, because the smell stays and then it becomes overwhelming *vomit*

I woke up this morning thinking that i was going to finish off the "present" i started a year ago - a little model Mazda RX-7. Quan and I actually bought the RX-7 a few years ago because he wanted to make the model cars that i was making at the time - at that time i was doing a Nissan Skyline R33 GTR, but he never came around to completing his RX-7 so i decided to take it and make it as a present for him.. One year later, and its still not finished. Why? Because in my bid to try and "tint" the windows, i managed to get glue all over it, and the glue now wont come off. Im stuck with a pretty RX-7, with gooey foggy windows :( *sigh*. Im going to spend today trying to fix it and finish off the car for him *yay*.

Here are some pics of the *blunder* and of the car so far...

The other night when i went to see "Kingdom of Heaven" i had to wait in line for about 15 minutes before the cinema opened up, and whilst i was waiting, i could not help but keep staring at the gigantic cutout picture of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith".. But nooo i was not staring at Brad Pitt (who i admit is still a hottie after so many years, but who is losing his appeal to the younger ones) but staring at the absolutely stunning angelina jolie... but lucky i was not the only one. It seems my favourite girls have also been staring at angelina, so we might head off to see the movie when it comes out *yay*. Although... i must admit the movie doesnt look very good, but well... it IS Angelina right? *Phwoar*

Speaking more about movies, I also watched the trailer for "Da Vinci Code" on Apple.com last night. And I'm *so* excited about its realease next year! I absolutely loved the book - although that was more to do with the historical facts and the clever piecing together of bits and pieces than Dan Brown's actual writing style - and I cant wait to see the movie :) I wonder if they'll keep it the same, or whether they'll change the plot, just like all movies do. But one thing i *must* complain about is the casting of Tom Hanks as the main character. I know he's a brilliant actor, but I just never imagined by leading man to be Tom Hanks. When i was reading the book, I imagined a sort of Richard Gere lookalike - sophisticated, suave, and hot, whist the Girl would have to be someone italian-ish in looks, and I thought that Sofia Coppola was the perfect Sophie. Ohhhhh well. Still excited.

Also, my korean drama is downloading very very slowly. Im up to episode 13 of "Im Sorry I love You" so not long to go. If you're a drama fan, i definitely recommend you watch this series - it'll make you angry, cry, frustrated and overwhelmed. haha yes, i watch way too much tv.

Well maybe not so morbid.. but lately ive been noticing that my heart likes to skip a beat every now and then. I can actually feel it skip that beat, as if its not really in rhythm and then it does like a double heart beat to make up for the skipped beat... and then what happens is that during that skipped beat, i have to breath really fast. I dont think that's very normal right? Maybe its a sign that i should stop eating so much chocolate and junkfood, otherwise i might have a heart attack *eeP*. Also, the right hand side of my chest hurts sometimes, and when it hurts, i also have shortness of breath *eep*. Im not sure if its anything to do with my heart, because arent heart problems associated with the left hand side of the body? *hmm*.

i think i should get it checked out.. :S

I just called MNG and they said that it would be "impossible" (she actually used that word) to refund something at the store.. she said the best she can do is a store credit. *sigh*. Now, i have to think about what ill buy with the store credit :( Oh that will teach me a lesson on impulse purchasing :( And teach me never to shop in smaller stores, and stick with myer and david jones whom always offer fantastic refund policies.. *cry*.

Anyways, i have a group assignment due on friday, and it seems that we only have half of the assignment. The other group members havent forwarded anything, and its all getting a bit worrying. I spoke to Shaz about this yesterday and she mentioned her group was doing the same to her as well - *grr*. Group assignments are always a logistical nightmare, but its even worse when people assume that because it is a group assignment, that it can be relegated to last place... *bOO*

So, anyhoo im going to look through the mng catalogue and see if i want anything else so that i can get an exchange / credit note back for the white sweater cardigan i just bought :( *sobS*

There are several things that make me feel guilty ...
1. Eating way too much chocolate and realizing that the next week will be plagued with fatness and pimples
2. Keeping things from my boyfriend
3. Using up all the petrol and not replacing it
4. Buyers Remorse

Yes Buyers remorse.. the dreaded guilt trip of a shopaholic. *sigh*. Buyers remorse is simply a bad feeling because not only do you get stuck with something you dont particularly like, but you also realize the money you spent on it could've gone to something else that is possibly much more worthwhile than what you are inevitably stuck with. *sigh*.

Now the question is : what do you do with that *thing* that's causing you so much remorse and guilt! ?

Hello! :) Oh the stress is finally catching up with me - its my final year, so technically i should be stressed every single day... but of course, lazy carefree me has been taking the more *meh* approach for the majority of the year.. Anyways, i have assignments and exams and its scary now :(

On lighter notes .. on saturday night I went to see "Kingdom of Heaven" at Innaloo, starring the delicious Orlando Bloom, and i daresay it has been one of his finest moments yet. In Lord of the Rings, Legolas was pure legendary but not spectacular acting wise, and in Troy, well - Prince Paris was just a punce.. hehe nothing much to say about him there. But in Kingdom of Heaven, Orlando proves that he can be a more grownup man, and devoid himself of stereotypical girly-type characters.. plus he's all dirty looking, which i like :) hahah But anyways, I would definitely recommend the movie to anyone whose looking for a movie to watch ;) After watching the movie, i went home and studied up on Leprosy and the Crusades.. *lol*.

And yesterday was a joyful day! Why? Because it was filled with gloomy rainy weather, and kiddies galore! The gloomy rainy weather meant that I was at last, able to wear my brand new marc jacobs gumboots out in the rain - i danced and tranced and jumped in puddles (just like a little kid) whilst everyone else was trying to shield themselves from the rain.. *teehee*..We picked up a birthday cake for Quan's lil sister's birthday party , and then went to pick out some cute little mukluk type booties for her, as well as picking up my jacket from laybuy *woohoo*.

Afterwards we headed off to "the Beach House" - a huge warehouse full of kiddie's playground stuff. It was an absolutely fantastic sight, with about 200 children screaming and laughing as they played on go-karts, ate pies, and went down slides.. *gee* i wish i had stuff like that when i was younger ;). We had to leave early though, which meant i didnt get to eat a slice of the chocolate mousse cake we had bought earlier on *sobS*.. but at least Vi liked her present ;) I think quan's going to come by later and give me some of the leftover cake *mm*.

Now i have to run and do my HR assignment :( *crY*

Yes yes, I am officially on the BLOGGER bandwagon :) heeh and in true elitist fashion, may i just say that blogger is indeed much nicer, and much prettier, and much friendlier than the ugly versions of livejournal *snOB*! :)

Actually, i would've not liked to resort to blogger, but there were too many problems at my old site, and with uni and msu, ive just found that it takes too much time to maintain and to make sure everything is functioning. Lately, my tracker has fallen down, and my javascript coding has gone down the loo :( *sobS*

Anyhoo, last night i stayed up to the wee hours of dawn (or is that twilight hehe) doing my industrial relations essay. Im not usually such a last minute writer, but unfortunately, my two weeks of effort hasnt produced much - its one of those essays where i just dont agree with any of the arguments being put forth by the experts, so Im finding it so hard to write :( Anyways, it is now complete, and utterly terrible. hehe I dont think ill even pick up the essay once its marked :S

Also i have a sidesplitting headache :( It seems that my late nights, early mornings and crazy stress has caught up to me :( Yesterday's stress was probably brought on my a huge clout of claustrophobia - you see, i was lining up to go into the sass and bide sale, and because i was one of the first five people, everyone from the back from squishing and pushing us forwards, causing me to be sandwiched between another million people :( Since i couldnt breathe very well for half an hour, i started getting a bit dizzy and freaked out.. hehe but anyways, lucky for me, the girl to the left and in front of me had nice smelling hair so i didnt have to smell BO or anything like that.. .hehe i did feel sorry for the girl behind me though because there were books in my bag and it was likely that the stabbed her, plus i hadnt washed my hair yesterday morning, so perhaps she caught a whiff of smelly hair.. hehe *NICCCEEEE*.

Anyways, this morning i woke up full of excitement because it was absolutely pouring down with rain.. I woke up my brother and told him i would be trudging in gumboots today, but then, the skies above me heard my gloating, and decided to stop raining. And now ? blue skies *CRY*.

Otay sorry about the move here, but yeah, it had to be done ;) I have to go hand in my assignment now :) Buh-BYE!
