Hi-ho :) Last night I was talking to clara about blogs and all, and i mentioned how on my blog, i must be the most boringest blogger around because i hardly ever write anything personal, and all my blogs are of the "yesterday i did this" and "yesterday i did that" sort. Im sure that people would love to read more personal thoughts and feelings, but being the private sort of person that I am, I think ill keep it to my weblog of things i do.. haha sorry for the boredom :p

ANyways, last night we went to Neill's 21st birthday at his house. The boys started very early on the alcohol and by about 10.30 got cracking on the bacardi 151's. hehe i loved watching some of them run away as soon as the bacardi came out, because they knew that everyone would try and make them drink it. THere's some potent stuff in those little shots :p Also, Neill had this funny green drink (it wasnt midori) with jelly snakes in them. Very strange. And for us non-drinkers? well, unless i was indubiously blinded by coldness and the amount of homies there were, i couldnt see any drinks that were non-alcoholic :)

hehe anyways it was a quaint sort of night, mainly spent chitchatting with the girls and diving in for the food that came out. Luckily for us, Simon had all the food and since Serene was chatting in our circle of friends, the food always managed to make its way to my little belly. On the downside, the girls were wearing heels and sinking into the grass... and i daresay i pulled up quite a bit of Neill's grass.. hehe at least im aerating it, and errr, making it grow faster?

I left a little early (before the cake came out) because I was starving. haha yes, snack foods weren't enough to keep the greediness subdued. So, we went to Fast Eddy's, and felt guilty about it .. hehe I mean, how do you tell the host that you're leaving the party because you're hungry and want to get food elsewhere? *eep*. Anyways, being the food critic that I am, i was advise NOBODY to ever eat the cheesecake at Fast Eddy's. It was absolutely revolting. :S Bad food to end a nice night. *grumps*

Ahhhh crap! I just wrote out a nice long little review about a pizza place only to have my computer screen freeze and i lost all my writing :( *buggers*

Anyhooz, last night after the meeting we went to eat at Il Padrino's (italian for "The GodFather"), which is a famous little pizzeria in northbridge. Home to the chef touted with such titles as the world's best pizza maker, king of pizza, jubilee pizza chef, and pizza chef to the pope, we could only hope for amazing pizza in this little perth-based cafe. Unfortunately we hadn't made any bookings, and my brother told me that you need to book ages in advance to get a table at Il Padrino's, but luckily for us, the chef and his wife are good family friends of Andy's, so they vacated a little table in the back for us, and treated us like royalty :p

Nanzio (the chef) made us a chicken pizza, and a l'entra which consists of such toppings as egg, sausages and pepperoni, and garlic bread to start. The thing I usually dont like about pizza is the fact that they are really greasy and the base fills you up way too quickly. With Il Padrino's pizza, it was thin crusted and woodfired, meaning that the pizza wasnt sickly to eat and sickly to look at, and best of all, it didnt fill me up with so much oil that i could probably deepfry my own pizza with it... But the pizza went down a treat, and the best part ? I loved the chunky meat bits which were completely flavoursome unlike those pizza chains that give you mini morsels of diced meat that barely have any taste, and may as well not have been included.

Definitely some thumbs up :)

Anyways, i have to go now as i have dance practice. *byE!

Last night I managed to garner enough strength from me one week of staying in bed, drinking fluids and eating bland food, to go bowling with Quan, Bao and Andy. The thing is though, i swear i roll the ball down there really super straight, but for some evil reason, the ball would turn to the left handside at the very last 20cm! *hmph* so I'd try to fix this by moving to the right, but since i bowl really straight at first, it would just fly into the right gutter :( Bao tried to give me some tips like bowling it super fast (went super fast down the gutter), and bending my left knee more (to which i promptly fell over as i bent both knees too much). hehe after three *gruelling* games against three boys, I must say, I didnt do any justice to the female gender, and scored a very dismal high score of 64points, and last (sometimes equal last) in all three games. I also saw angela there last night as she's working there... *yayyy* she came to cheer me on but i noticed her laugh everytime i turned around after bowling. *Sigh*.

After we did the truly fobby asian thing and went into northbridge to play TimeZone - well actually, the boys wanted to play the new Percussion Freaks game and show off their drumming skills, whilst i was fixated on the ipod shuffle inside the jackpot game. I got a glimmer of hope when the asian boy won the shuffle, so i attempted, but the closest i ever got was 994, and to win some sort of a prize, i needed 995. *booo*.

And then, for more fobbiness, we went to TeaFusion and got some drinks at about 11.30pm and sat around drinking bubbletea and eating soup noodles in the packet.. haha there's a novelty about paying someone else to make you instant noodles in a cup, and we thought they were sooooo incredible delicious, although it must've been the novelty of the idea talking.

Today? Im feeling better, but not quite 100% yet. Im still all a bit gluggy all over, and my throat is nowhere near talkable. If you see me and i croak a cough at you, you'll have to forgive me :p

Okay i have to get ready for uni now :)

Last night i went to see "Sin City" without the slightest notion of plotline, cast, setting or what it might be based on. Having entered the cinema, I was slightly shocked to realize the movie was in black and white (with the contrast of a hint of a colour), and was in fact completely sold out from 8.30 till 9.30 - we caught the last session.

Anyways, the movie itself was fantastic. Sure, there were lots of laughable moments, but because Sin City was based on a comic book, the laughable moments seemed to fit right in, especially with their comical rendering of blood, gore and "pow" fighting. The way the story was told was also very cleverly made and developed, almost akin to the twist and turn plotline, on par with Lock,Stock & 2 smoking barrels...

and the cast? Just brilliant. Everyone from Josh Hartnett (bless his little droopy asian looking eyes), Bruce Willis, Clive Owen (he is so incredibly cool!) , Mickey Rourke (there's a name from the past) to hotties like Devon Aoki, James King, Brittany Murphy and Jessica Alba. No doubt the boys will love to see the girls in this movie, especially as they are all characteristically whore-like, with Jessica Alba being a stripper, James King being a prostitute, Brittany Murphy as a barmaid and Devon Aoki as a laughable (but still kinda cool) japanese prostitute samurai.. haha yes, there are some strange things that happen in this movie, but still, the way the direction was made, the telling of the story (and melding of the various stories) are put forth in an incredibly genius method :)

haha as you can see , I loved it :) And judging by the cackles from Andy sitting next to me, the oooh's and ahhh's of the cinema audience and the engrossed look on quan's face, id say they all enjoyed it too :)

Today was my very first day back at uni - semester II. Unfortunately, as bad students go, I could be perhaps number 1. Yes, I managed to miss my first day of uni. Why? Because I couldnt find my pencilcase, because i hadnt yet found out where my classes were (and the UWA timetable website wasnt working this morning) and because I couldnt find the left shoe to match my khaki ballet flats. *shakes head*. Hopefully this isnt a signal of the semester to come :S

Im actually sort of glad that uni is back on for the semester (but im sure ill change my mind as it progresses). haha as xinmin once said, "kae actually loves uni", which is true in a way, because it doesnt leave me wondering about my day aimlessly and without much intention. But at the same time, I hate deadlines, stress and pressure, although as those that know me, Im not really the type to be easily stressed out...
What do i look forward to this semester?

Off the topic of uni though, I ask thee.. is winter ever going to arrive in Perth? My red gumboots are still sitting in their box with no rain and puddles to wear them too! *hmPH

*sobs*. i cant believe holidays are already over. It feels like yesterday that i went on break, and now it starts on monday? *nOoo*. Oh wellz - it means im closer to graduation! *woooHOO*.
Anyways, ive decided im going to the city to surf run this time round, in august, which leaves me approximately 6 weeks of training before i can run the 12km. hehe I have been rather slack lately not going to the gym very often, so I have to get back into training mode. Yesterday I went to do some morning running, but only managed to do 1.2km, which is only 10% of the city to surf, haha leaving a very very long way off... Unfortunately for me, i cant really run in the morning because my blood pressure levels seem really low and i always get dizzy.. So, i had to stop.. Today I went to the gym again, but yep, still a long way off..
ive tried to convince people around me to train for the city to surf but no one wants to.. :( Everyone says they're too unfit, but that's the whole point right? to get more fit! hehe. Oh wellz, but bryan is going to do it, so maybe i can run with him! :)
And ive become more domesticated, and quite proud of my cooking efforts lately :) Tonight im making sang choy bow, spring rolls, pork mince omelette, and soup! *yay*. kae's becoming domesticated...!

Ive had lots of heart to heart deep and meaningfuls (dnMs as bryan would call themhehe) with some friends lately, and it seems that as time goes by, and distance comes between people, friendships are always lost. It's really quite sad, because throughout primary school, highschool and even uni, most people have the structure of routine and commonplaces to meet up with friends and share moments. However, as time passes, when people leave uni, or start to "specialise" in their studies, most people lose that common place and time to meet up with friends, and often people make less effort to continue their friendships.

I guess ive been lucky that some of my greatest friends have always made efforts to come contact me, even when i havent always been the most reachable (ie. mobile phone dramas, transport etc etc), and there's something about certain friendships that make you perservere no matter how hard , because you know that there is a bond between you :)

i know also that i havent always made the greatest effort.. i sort of just hope others will do it.. but having had some really insightful dnMs about friendships recently, i realized that it is something that both parties need to do - just like in any romantic relationships, you both need to put the effort into keeping up with each other and growing.

So thanks to those that have recently reached out to me, whom I havent really "hungout" with lately mainly due to the work/uni divide, and thanks so much for all your efforts in keeping our friendship going :) Thanks to the pesters of "kae.. hurry up and get msn!" hehe , and "kae.. i havent seen you for ages, here's an email instead" .. and "kae.. call me backk.. grrr"..

Thanks for your perserverance, your efforts and your friendships :) *mwah*

i got my chocolate fix yesterday! hehe after five failed attempts to convince various loved people in my life (who i assumed loved me back too! *hmph*) to buy the 1kg of chocolate with me, I had to settle for simple chocolate.

Since my daddy has been super busy and doesnt get home from work till about 6something, I've become all grown up and cook every day (unless im lazy then my brother cooks) and buy groceries.. So yesterday I was shopping for all those essential things like washing powder, vegies etc etc, when i came across a super cheap chocolate bar special - ACTION is selling mars/snickers bars for 99c!!! *wooOT*. I think its their way of compensating for the big sydney mars/snickers recall business, so I got some and snuck it in on the grocery bill..
haha you'd think that $2.00 didnt really matter on a grocery bill right? But anyways, I was feeling so incredibly guilty for having snuck it in on the groceries list, that i was a bit of a nervous wreck, then finally, at 8pm after dinner, i confessed to my dad .. "dad.. i snuck in a snickers and mars bar on the groceries list.. i hope you dont mind" .. hehe and then he asked my how much they were, and when told he was like "why didnt you buy more" !
*D'OH!* I coulda cleaned them out of chocolate bars.. but now i can't just go in and grab 50 chocccies can i ? *sigh*.

today whilst browsing the kmart toy catalogue, i came across something that made my heart flutter, swirl and tumble all at once. Amidst the whole snickers/mars bar fiasco over in sydney, I came across a 1kg tub of m&m's - peanut or chocolate flavoured! OMG. This is like a dream come true. I can just imagine sitting at home whilst watching the multitudes of korean dramas that i love, dipping my greedy dirty lil hand in a gigantic tub that is overflowing with colourful round delights and dipping.. and dipping.. and dipping.. *drools*.

Of course, my good conscience took over for awhile telling myself "lose that 3kgs you put on over summer!!!" so i came up with an even more genius plan (knowing how genius i already am ;) ) ... I asked my bf if he wanted to go halves in this little chocolate fiesta of mine, to which he promptly shook his head and gave me a strange look, in turn making me feel ashamed of my greediness for chocolate.

So.. i looked closer to home - my brother and my sister both said no, even though i tried endlessly to tease them with the all fantastic and so persuasive line "okay but if i buy the whole 1kg tub , NONE of you can eat it okay?".. of course, their love of chocolate did not shine through, and my attempts once again failed miserably...

My dad, being the health conscious person that he is, of course just gave me a strange "are you serious" kind of look.. and now ive even asked jess if she wants to!

haha but if all else fails.. does anyone out there love chocolate enough to want to go halves with me in a 1kg tub of chocolate?? hahaha its only $4.50 each! :) *pleaseeeeeeeeeee*

i think i have a stomach bug :( every time i eat something, my stomach goes really weird and i end up feeling nauseous and have to lie down. It's been happening for the past two days. :( Maybe its a sign to say "stop eating so much crap kae".. hmm .. but those little custard tart things looks soooo good in my fridge . oh yeah, my brother has a casual job at a pastry place, so every thursday and sunday night he brings back a huge box full of pastries - danishes, cheesecakes, croissants, pies , donuts, all those extremely unhealthy, full of cream, fat and sugar things, but that one with a sweet tooth *such as i* just simply cannot refuse. *boo*.

In all honesty, I am quite a bum. I often wonder out of my house wearing pyjamas - to collect the mail at 4pm, to go get some cake at the 24 hour grocery shop, to grab some maccas (no one is going to check at drive thru right?) and just because I love wearing pj's all day long. But last night, I actually felt a little strange getting into my pj's to go out on a saturday night, but it had to be done from Trevor's 21st :) It was quite a funny sight seeing guys wearing pj's (ive never seen it because most guys just wear shorts unless theyre old men) , and drinking in pj's, some wearing bath robes and boxers, and the cutest of all? trevor's night cap :) of course there were some mandatory party poopers who came in jeans, full makeup and heels haha and at one point, Quan looked at me and goes "why didnt you do your hair?".. to which the response was simply "haha im in pjs - why bother".. Anyways.. I wont blog much about it cause i think pics are better for party moments :)

Sometimes when I go to certain events or "outings", i end up feeling extremely old.. haha anyways, yesterday I went to watch Quan's little sister perform at the end of semester assembly. In my high school days, I remember assembly to be quite fun- besides a few boring awards given out, the students would put on fabulous shows such as comedy skits (and there were lots of them about the nazi librarians and year 8 scrunchies), as well as talented performances of songs and rockbands. All in all, assembly was quite an enjoyable and entertaining time. Anyways, at yesterday's assembly, I was bored beyond belief. It was about 1 and a half hours of boring speeches and award ceremonies, littered by about 4 performances. OMG i never knew assembly could be that boring, or is it me just getting old and boring? *brrr*

Anyways, we went to go see Quan's little sister perform in the school choir, as well as a little hiphop dance number. The song was so cute - you know that whole little year 1's to 4's singing a bit out of tune and in a slow drawl ? haha well it was like that, but oh so cute! And the dance.. *phwoar*. Even i can't dance like that - but then again, im pretty sure most of you will concede that I'm just an unco dancer.. Do you EVER see me on the dancefloor? *ha!*. Anyways, these little girls were shimmie-ing and shaking their booties to hiphop songs.. haha it was perhaps a little "raunchY' for little school girls, but it was cute and i was very very impressed at how well they kept time and remembered their dance moves!

A picture of the girls after the performance :

In other news, Bryan got a transfer back to Perth so he will be back in the city indefinitely.. :) Okiedokie.. off i go :)

Supa Dupa Girl-Kae is the eldest of three kae's and is therefore the supa dupa one of the lot (as given to me by Alvin). Currently residing in Perth, WA, Girl-Kae is a happy go lucky bubbly girl, who loves to shop, eat, and sleep. When she's not working, she can be found at home being a homebody, glued to the screen watching enormous amounts of drama series, out eating icecreams and cakes, and shopping till her heart's content.
