Thanks to all those gorgeous people who emailed/sms-ed/commented and said congrats! I haven't had the chance to reply to the emails, but I promise i will do it this weekend, as I just dont have the time to right now :(

Christine - you were soooo right - its like "no time" right now.. boo. And it was my first day! hahah I wonder in sydney - you have extended hours right? Hmm well today I was thinking I really need to get some pantyhose to wear with skirts to work, but nothing was open by the time I went to work, went to uni and finished! *grr*.. SO yes, all those people who voted again extended hours - i'm very very disappointed with you! *HMPH*

Anyways, I have no idea how you all do it . Especially those that work super long overtime hours - I know you all say that the pay and money for working is much better than being a student, but seriously, after my first day, i'm totally buggered and i'm like *boo* i dont like working.

haha I'm so not cut out for early mornings, late home times, and no time... *CRY*. Plus on top of that, i'm still doing two units at uni - boooo.. So, I have to still make up my 40 hours by working extra on other days when I dont go to uni. *booo* hahah i'm such a whinger... I dont think im cut out for it :( But i'll see how i go - who knows, it might actually get interesting when I'm actually given more to do.

Oh! And you know I hate St George's Terrace because everyone walks so scarily fast and stressful? I thought by working in West Perth, I would escape all that. Unfortunately, because I have to walk from the bus station to the red cat stop, I'm stuck in a whirlwind of crazy "im late for work" morning bus riders, and although it was my first 2 minutes of walking with them, I was already stressed :S

And.. when I got home after WORK, UNI, SOC MEETING - I still have to do my assignment :(

*lol* what a whinge of a post :S Err yes, at its only 9pm, but i'm exhausted so I'm becoming one of those old boring sleepie work people that go to bed early :S *crrY more!*

Howdy :) Following my little spiel on friday, I actually got a call back about 10 minutes after blogging to say that "I know we said we'd call you back on wednesday or thursday, but the interviewing panel and I were unanimously impressed with you today and would like to offer you the position straightaway".. so yes, now i can reveal what the last blog was about :) hehe In short, I had applied for a position that i completely forgot about, she loved my resume and cover letter, had a phone interview followed by a panel interview of 4 people and then about 2 hours after the interview, she told me I could have the job and they wouldnt be interviewing anyone else.. haha talk about morale and ego boosting eh :p

Anyways, in short, the position is a full time one in west perth for a national company (but the perth office has only about 20 people). As I am still in uni , I will be on a crappy pay but reviewed every three months and then after graduation, will move onto the more serious stuff.. but anyways, the reason why i wanted the position was not because of the position itself - there are heaps of jobs out there like this admin/HR assistant one, but because of the working environment, and the people.

Now, ive always dreaded the 9-5 drag of st george's terrace, because im easily influenced by others, and if they're stressed (as those very fast walking terrace people tend to be) I will too.. So i always said that I wanted to have a non-conventional job, or if I must have a conventional one, then at least let it be in a place away from the city, but still in a nice environment. Anyways, I will be working in West Perth , a stone's throw away from the yummy Black Tom's restaurant, and a little work from Subi. The office is nice, and the people even better. But of course, I may change my preconceived notions when i actually start.

Anyways, I'm going to be negotiating salary and flexitime this week, and having my contract drawn up on Tuesday.

But yes, Christine and Bryan, : I still want to go to Japan, and since JET is in august, I will still have the opportunity to work, apply for JET and if i dont like working, can always fly away to japan for that interesting adventure that i thrive for :)

Besides that... what else did i do ?

Last night, Quan and I braved the weather the have dinner at matsuri . As always, kae had her deliciously scrumptious and healthy "chirashi" , and tataki for entree. Quan tried the teriyaki fish, and for some reason they must've overdosed on the butter component in the recipe because the entire thing was tasting like butter - far removed from traditional teriyaki sauces. He actually wanted to throw up so we had to skip the dessert, skip chattering, and sat outside at QV1 whilst he regained his stomach :S

This morning I went to dimsum lunch at Golden Century with some of the chisholm boys + connie , trung, serene, sherlin and quan, and ate our little hearts out. This is the second time this week that i've had dimsum so im a little over the greasy meatiness of it all, and i've eaten out almost all of the week, so I'm muchly looking forward to good home cooked food.. *slurp*..

Anyways, I have to clean my room, wash my clothes and do all those little chores that i've been putting off for a week :P Bye bYE!

I got a call about something that seems really exciting to me - so much so that I know deep down I really want it badly, but at the same time, I dont know whether I should just expect the worse, and give away any sense of hope.

You see, hope is one of those things that can make your day, or completely wreck a couple more. To hope means to expect something, to be optimistic about that one thing, and to want something really badly. But to hope is to also play the waiting game - that sense of eternal ticking away, that game that goes by oh so slowly, where the thoughts of your certain want and optimism could shatter or could be fulfilled any instant. Then after the waiting game, hope plays more tricks on you. To hope is to take a chance on life, and even on your happiness so to speak. To hope, and to play the waiting game can often lead to two very different arenas and pathways. To hope and to fulfil that hope means joy, even more expectations and a sense of accomplishment and self-worth. But to hope and to not receive can mean devastation, tears, and the feeling of unworthiness, and further affect your future expectations and dreams.

I know that I can't help but hope , to remain optimistic - but at the same time, I dont want to hope. I dont want to play that waiting game, and to put a gamble on whether that hope will leave me elated, or depressed.
How to supress hope? Well, that's an arena not yet travelled...

My sister is such a little funny duddy. Yesterday she took out some bread from the pantry and proceeded to get it ready for *sandwich* making...

Her: - Do you think fetta cheese goes with sandwiches?
Me: - What do you mean?
Her: - you know, just fetta cheese and bread?
Me: - Do we have any fetta cheese? Since when did we ever have fetta cheese?

*karen takes out a little box from the fridge*

Her: - Right here.. Do you think I can just spread it ?

* kae stares at the little box *

Me: - Karen, how do you plan to spread that on your sandwich?
Her: - just like jam .. just spread it

* kae bursts out laughing*

Me: hehe you do realize that's fettacine right?
Her: isnt fettacine the same thing?
Me: errmm no karen, fettacine is PASTA - fetta cheese is cheese.. hehe
Her: *blank face* so i guess i cant spread the fettacine on my sandwich?

* kae gives karen a blank look and walks away*

The poor girl's face was so sad after finding out it wasn't possible to spread pasta on her sandwich heheh.. She promptly put the sliced bread back into the pantry , and ate an apple instead.. Cutie :p

Usually when I post about work, I get all angry and upset because most of the clients that we have are suffering from lots of issues such as homelessness, abuse, disabilities and just at a point in their lives where they need major help. Today however, I went to work and in addition to doing the usual "new" and "ongoing" clients, I also did some progress reports on clients that no longer require our services.

And it brought a smile to my face :) Part of the progress reports require me to examine whether certain before/after goals have been met, and in almost all the ones I did today, I was really happy because most of them had met some/most of their goals. In particular, I was really excited about the teenager client who had succeeded in finding a permanent place to live, had undergone counselling, and had resumed his studies as well as finding employment. I guess because he was around my age, it made it seem all the more real.

Of course, some clients exit the programs without having met any goals, and these are the ones that usually return after a short while. In some of my ongoing client files, I've seen some with reports from way back - whilst some have one report in their file (indicating short term help), some have about 6 reports (ie. over many many years) and still don't make progress. These are the ones that break my heart, but I wont go into the sadness of it..

I'm just going to focus on the clients that did meet goals , and I'm so happy for them :) *grin*

As mentioned in my last blog, I went to Metros last night - the first time in something like 3 months or so. I actually can't even remember the last time I went, and neither can a lot of people :) But anyways, I have to shamefully admit that I actually had fun :) I think it was the company more than anything that made it such an enjoyable night :)

There were so many birthdays on last night, and so there were so many familiar faces :) It was so fabulous to have caught up with the familiar faces that used to grace UWA all the time - the northy boys such as Larry, John, Alvin (Curtin) and then there was Big Hens and of course the girlies - Xinmin and Jezza, and then there were those who (like me) had gone for Dougie's Birthday - the whole crew from our uni days - Thanh, Dougie, Tuyen, Loan, CC, the whole lot - and then there were just random familiar faces I hadn't seen in ages.

Jezz and I were lamenting on the fact that we hadn't been out for ages, and despite having gone shopping a few times a week for the last few months, we still had nothing to wear. That is , all we buy now is "casual" clothes , or Non-clubbing clothes, so it's a testament to how homely our lives have become :p haha. SO we decided that being too much of a housewife can be a bad thing, and that we'd be going out more from now on - ESPECIALLY for icecream *drools*.

ANyways, that's a cap of last night :) That is all :p

So... my sewing journey is about to start. I managed to get my little old sewing machine running again (saves me a few hundred buying a new one), and my lovely Aunty Mei is in town, so she said she'll teach me how to sew a few things - she's a tailor and used to give sewing lessons to people :) So, inside this little mind of mine is a swirl of pretty things that i'm going to make and sew (i hope they're not just little imaginations of mine).

Anyways, guess what? I think i might actually go to metros tonight. haha yes, for those that know me, metros is *soooo* not the place i like to be :) Sweaty people, skanky chickies, dodgy guys dancing really close to you, puke, and bad music - *hmmm* very appealing huh ? haha but I was talking to a good friend of mine last night and he said he'll be there tonight to get some drinks for his birthday, so I guess i'll be heading down there to drink to his birthday too :)

hehe Jez already warned me not to take those *pills*.. hmm.. haha NOOO i'm not a druggie! *Hmph*. Last time I was at metros, a friend of mine gave me one of those blood pressure medication pills because apparently it makes you less prone to absorbing alcohol ? So.. anyways, this pill is *supposed* to make your blood flow through easier, and ease the pain off your heart..

Well.. anyways, since my alcohol tolerance is extremely low, I decided that since she took one and was fine (she's also got a low alcohol tolerance), I would to... *bad idea!* i have extremely low blood pressure, and a crazy heartbeat, the pill didnt do me any favours. Instead, I spent my night asking people whether it was really hot in the place, and that my heart was beating super fast, and almost feeling as if I would faint or have a heart attack anytime ... Little did I know that blood pressure medication (meant for people with HIGH blood pressure) can be extremely dangerous for those with LOW blood pressure *doH!*

So tonight - no funny pills.. and it will also be the first time in ages that I'm going to metros. The last time was ... hmm.. I remember Bao and Michael was there... but i dont remember much else? *thinks*. But anyways, Jess and I are a little excited because we havent been out for ages.. hehe so I'll see you there ehhh :)

I have developed a seriously damaging fetish for Alannah Hill things.. the girliness of it all, the laces, the ribbons, silk and polkadots - it's seriously becoming somewhat borderline dangerous :p I have been to the boutique almost everyday for the past few days, and bought just as many items..

...so given that alannah hill purchases could be seriously damaging to the bank account, I'm going to take affirmative action first, and learn to sew! hehe I've sourced out a few *beginners* sewing machines and even looked at some patterns. I've picked out some deliciously girly patterns that could mimic alannah hill any day , and of course, i have this genius thought that I will be able to sew every single one of them at first try, and be extremely happy and satisfied.

In reality, i know that I'm going to end up with many hours of tears over crooked seams, botched hems, machine jams, and just an utter failure in sewing machine skills.. So, this time i'm going to be smart and get some lessons to go with my sewing machine (which i'm still deciding between the CUTEST looking brother sewing machine or the functional but ugly SINGER machine), and do it all properly from the beginning :)

eheh so like all crafty things that kae embarks on, I will report my failures and successes - whether or not you're interested, and probably end up giving up in the end ;)

PS> if you happen to see me in the city with an ill fitting item, please let me know that my sewing is not up to "public awareness" standard yet :)

Ive become kinda lazy to blog... but i think that has to do with my general growth in laziness lately anyways. You see, I have classes very very rarely - every third tuesday i have a psych lab, and i go to school on wednesday for lectures and tutes - but that's it. As a result, i only need to pull myself together for one day of the week, and every other day requires a little discipline for home study. Because of that general laziness, everything else has become a lazy blur too..

Yesterday however, i had a burst of productivity. After going out to the subi markets in the morning, I went to Alannah Hill to pick up some stuff, and then spent the day cleaning my bedroom (its now extremely extremely neat), and cleaning the bathroom... I *never* clean my room (except for that once in 6 months stint that usually takes a few days because my room has become such a stinky pigsty its no longer inhabitable) , and i *never* clean the bathroom, partially because my lil sister likes to clean the bathroom.. SO... i got a little energy back and am feeling more productive now :)

Last night Quan and I also went to dinner at Dusit Thai and silly us decided to order something like 5 dishes between us.. haha yes, can we say *STUPID* ? halfway through eating, we made a deal - i would eat the potatoes, salad, and the pineapple fried rice, and he would eat the lamb and the fishcakes ... i ate two potatoes and gave up.. there was *sooooooooo* much food left.. *sigh* but it was fun anyways :)

and today? well there's a reason why im blogging.. Quan is playing world of warcraft so in order to keep myself occupied, im blogging.. haha that's what he calls "quality time" ;) Boys for ya eh!

I got my new phone battery this morning:) Granted, i purchased a dodgy generic one from hongkong, but hopefully it'll do the job :) The LG one was 49.95 compared to 4.95 for the generic one so i guess you can guess which one won eh ?

Anyways, have been busy and sick lately (again). However, today i went paper shopping - you know, all those gorgeous hand made papers that you find at arts and crafts shops ? well, it was all for *prototyping*, but i still had fun doing it :)

Oh, yesterday Yaolin performed for the Australian Boomers! So they're all going to be on teevee tonight for about 5 minutes at 10pm :)

*HowdY* I just got back from my msu committee camp - well not really a *camp* camp* but more of a massive slumber party :) There was plenty of bad junk food, terrible soft drinks (where was the water people???), lots of gambling, poker and comparison of whose gambling chips were better - definitely TREVSWOOD heheh, lots of gossiping, not much sleeping and drunkenness. All in all, i would say that most people had lots of fun - minus the few that may have passed out or thrown up everywhere :S But in terms of actual MSU work done - zilch :) hahah that's us for ya :p

ANyways, i learnt several things on this little camp:

Most people that know me will say that i spend lots of money on the world's most ridiculous things.. haha as naomi likes to put it "its just because she's girl-kae : she's like that".. *hmm*. So, about 10 minutes ago, my brother said to me "kaelimmmmmmmmmm you have a package - i think your book has arrived"!

So off i ran, excitedly because i had been waiting for my limited edition Snoopy book to arrive all morning and I couldnt really sleep last night because I knew it was going to arrive today!... Gee i think i hav a problem :S

[taken out of the parcel box, in its bubblewrapped glory!]

Yes im so stupid ;) My brother says the novelty will wear off in about one week , haha and in the back of mind, im sure of it. But for now, im going to ogle at Snoopy :)

Quick post - last night the girls went to Matsuri for dinner, to have a very late post-xinmin birthday dinner and to catch up since everyone has been so busy. As always, plenty of chitchat, laughter, *gasps*, and all those other things that girls do - bitch, fashion, boyfriends.. hehe . We had yummy yummy food as always (mmm tataki) and also spotted Larry leaving - with a chickie :p ahah larry yes, we spent ages trying to figure out who you were with ;) Anyways, thanks for dinner babes!
