.. Im feeling totally "under the weather" at the moment. It all started at about 11am with a terrible sudden bout of nausea - it hit me all of a sudden, and I felt faint and on the verge of throwing up. Luckily (or unluckily some would say), I was the only one in my entire Perth office working today and so I had the entire floor to double over in pain, rest my head and do the things that sick people normally do - except to go home. I think i spent half my time emailing my other fellow "work buddies" complaining about how crook i felt, whilst half falling asleep at my desk, half running to the toilet and buckling over in pain, and half running into the kitchen every now and then with the stupid thought that macadamia nut cookies would make everything better.

... and now looking back, I sincerely hope that the security cameras in the IT departments weren't turned on, otherwise my managers may look back and wonder why I was running around every two minutes buckled over in pain...

.. but one thing good out of it ... i will get paid for sitting around all day long :D

.. and came hometime ? my lovely bf came to pick me up, bought me a copy of Madison to read and some little medicine to make me feel better... :D

... regret? not being able to pillow and manchester shop tonight with hao as we were going to! :(

It's post-christmas sale time! This morning I woke up with the inevitable dilemma - to go and brave the sales, or sit at home and hope the great buys are still around when i eventually get out of my comfy pj's and into the city... After 4 hours of dilemma-solving, I've decided to browse around Freo this afternoon when Quan and I head out to have some harbourside lunch, and maybe look at the markets :)

In the meantime, I read that David Jones expects to move something like 250 000 pairs of shoes this week. That's a lot of shoes - but not nearly enough for me :D I am a shoe fetishest. I love my shoes, and I'll never pass up the opportunity to buy beautiful shoes (unless of course, my poor bank account is dying). But anyhoos, stuck at home until about 12 or 1 when we head out to Freo, I decided to do some online browsing. After checking out some latest styles by my favourite designer Marc Jacobs, I came to realize that what some term "fashionable" is actually quite fugly. Case in point - the new clog type, wedge-type, roman sandal type fashion at the moment.... and here are a small selection of the shoes I found that were incredibly fugly or just plain shocking :

[Purple suede boots with mummy-fying bandage details anyone?]

[ .. how about some Russian style kiddie bondage shoes?]

On the other hand, I could drool over these ones all day long... and I suspect that my lovely boyfriend was actually going to buy me those pretty MJ heart ballet flats, if not for my shockingly bad treatment of clothes and shoes...

[ The beautiful suede ballet flats - also comes in blue, and coral *drool]

Okay, I attempted to add more pretty pics but blogger won't let me for some reason (stupid blogger). Anyways, this post is making me want to go sales shopping... *twinkles fingers*

.. So another year of festivities and christmas went... What did I get up to ? Well, I woke up on Sunday morning and went downstairs to find not a SINGLE present had been opened yet. A little puzzled about the state of affairs, I sat patiently waiting for someone else to open their presents - but not a single soul did. My sister was happily eating her breakfast, my dad had gone out for his morning walk, and my brother was upstairs banging away at his drumkit.

The Christmas Haul by Friday Night - More to come by Sunday Morning!

Shocked by the lack of "open-ripper-uppering" i proceeded to sort all the little parcels by receiver. Then I yelled at everyone to come open their presents, but alas! they pleasantly strolled down, a bit to my dismay and rather embarrassed, and somewhat greedy "present-opening-excitement"... but we finally ripped them open :D Anyways, amongst my Christmas haul, I got some new stuff for my bed (which I bought last month, and which has been without sheets for awhile)...

[ Some pillows and new bed sheets courtesy of Santa Claus - and a messy room courtesy of I ]

[ The pillow that my creative boyfriend made - Notice the "KC" sewn in! *phwoar* hehe]

Anyways, after the mandatory present opening morning, we headed off to Burswood Park for a lovely bbq/picnic with some family and friends. My cousin Valencia brought her gorgeous little son , whom I hadnt seen for about 3 months. He was soooooooo incredibly cute, and everyone wanted to kidnap him, but of course, being the good mommy that she is, she wouldnt let us ;) Unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera, so I couldnt take piccies of the gorgeous little Garrick :D

After stuffing ourselves full of chocolates, meat and all things Christmas, we retreated home, and for dinner tonight, we made ourselves eat vegetarian food. hehe It's probably better for our poor digestive system which is still probably working in overdrive to processs the junk i've eaten this Christmas.

Besides that, the Christmas break has been filled with lots of house redecorating. Following my redecorating of my room last month, it has inspired my dad to repaint the entire house. Being bold and colourful, I suggested big bright colours like purple and greens. ehhe I started to slap the purple on the wall at the top of the stairs, and as soon as my dad saw it, he was utterly shocked. However, I think with the contrast of the green in the hallways and in my sister's room, he's starting to like it. We still have the bathrooms and toilets to do upstairs, and haven't even started on the downstairs area yet , so a long way to go. After this, my dad plans to pull up the carpet and put in wooden floorboards, but I think we'll have to wait till at least Easter for that when we're not working and able to spend time on it.

All in all, not the most relaxing Christmas break so far, but definitely an enjoyable one ;)

I was reading the newspaper yesterday and there were so many views about the whole political incorrectness business surrounding holidays, special events and multiculturalism.

For one, I am so sick of this political incorrectness business. Christmas has been around for thousands of years, and people have accepted that in most countries (if not all), Christmas Day is usually either remembered, celebrated or noted. I hate that the politicians have come out and said that everyone should be more politically correct in case non-christmas celebrating people get offended. In Australia, I doubt anyone is getting offended. Even if they dont celebrate it, they still join every other Australian in taking a public holiday, and often go around wishing Merry Christmas out of courtesy. This notion of political correctness came to a halt when i was reading up on my Animal Crossing game for my DS, and noted that there is no Christmas - but instead, nintendo have replaced it with JINGLE, and ToyDay. ??? And in world of warcraft, it's not christmas - it's some season of winter thing. These renamings and walking on eggshells is just stupid - people everywhere knows what the 25th of December is. To rename it something that still connotates with the original holiday is just stupid.

Anyways, enough ranting for a happy season :D Wishing you all a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. (And if you get offended, you're just a scrooge hehe)

I know that this is perhaps a disgusting and rather ghastly thing to do, but here's a picture of the lovely state of my left leg (my right leg is just as bad but it was too hard to photograph both legs eheh)...

Anyways, it all started when I was cleaning up my room today, and looked down and realized that my left leg was green. A little shocked, I asked my sister if it looked as bad as i imagined, and her reaction was "OMG it's green!"... and then proceeded to tell me how disgusting it looked and that it was a great fantastic thing that office people should wear stockings.. haha in this case, i definitely need them.

I have no idea where these bruises came from - probably bumping into things. I know that with my blood condition, I do bruise much more easily than a lot of people, but I have never seen such green bruises and so many of them in one area.

I suppose you can't really tell that much from the photo (don't forget to click for the enlarged version for full view), but I circled them just to "show off" my bruises :S I hope they clear quickly and don't turn purple. *eek* gotta be more careful from now on...

[ Seven lovely bruises on my leg. Don't forget to enlarge it lol]

It was christmas lunch today :) My workplace organised a lovely christmas day for us today, with the opening of secret santa presents starting at 12pm, followed by a delicious three course meal and unlimited drinks, and then the sundowner at the Brisbane, where the "young ones" drank to our hearts were content (or in my case - racing a million miles a minute, and almost toppling over).

After my 1/4 of a glass of Asahi beer, and 1 teaspoon of white wine, I am now suffering from the world's worst headache, and the world's weirdest feeling stomach. At this moment in time, having spent the last three months working in a sector dominated by the Aussie culture of football, cricket, and beers, I must make one comment and that is props to all those asians out there who can handle their alcohol . (Yes, i know there are a few out there ;) ).

You see - when you start working, alcohol becomes such an important part of your day, especially friday arvos, when the beers come cracking out, and offers of rounds go your way. In the last three months, I have had my sips of champagne diluted with orange juice, and my encounter with wine and beer today, and both times felt all the bit woozy after a miniscule of liquid consumption. It amazes me how much my workmates can drink, and it amazes me even more the importance they place on alcohol when eating out , or just having a good time.

I know that this is perhaps a very very bad post - but to all those non-workers out there - start building your alcohol levels - u'll need it to compete. (Unless of course, ur like me - the one they see as their "goal" for building alcohol consumption - then you're okay, because ur still in a lovable sorta niche hehehe).

Okay, perhaps i made no sense in this post. Bear in mind that my head is throbbing, and any minute now , im going to chuck my servings of squid , steak, and dessert..... so maybe next time when i post and look back, ill just shake my head.. :S

I got my credit card statement this month. I knew it was going to happen, but seriously, present buying has caused a big dent in my bank balance :( It's almost 3/4 of my pay for this month *sobs*, so i guess my little monthly deposit for a house isn't going to happen this month. *shakes head*

Thanks to all the lovely people that msg-ed me for my birthday :) I was working that day, and the buzz that came from my phone every time an sms showed up really made my working day go faster :) So thanks muchly :p And to everyone else - bad bad bad :p hehe kidding !

Anyways, so I got some gorgeous flowers from the lovely boyfriend, and the coolest pinkest nintendo DS.. haha so if anyone has a nintendo ds and needs "buddies" for their online gaming, let me know and ill give u my "friends code" haha :D

My birthday itself was a little uneventful, not the least bit due to some very inappropriate comments (i thought) from my dad. Having come home, he obviously forgot that it was my birthday and at the dinner table, I mentioned that it was my birthday. He came back with a comment to the tune of "you're an adult now - you work, you don't need birthdays." i was like WTF??? Who thinks that? Seriously! I dont know anyone in the world that says anything like that. SO i slammed down my dinner and just went upstairs.

His gf then came over and wished me happy birthday and gave me a little gift. I hope he felt bad. Then, yesterday i got a card from my hairdresser (I know it's just for promotion etc) but i said to him rather harshly "look dad - even my hairdresser remembers. Unlike you." ...

He has not once said sorry. And im still grumpy about it!

But anyways, besides spending thursday night playing DS, I also went to meet up with the girls for coffee on wednesday night for some good ol' fashion girl-speak. Last night was spent at Gershwin's for dinner with my lovely "other half" and today, im getting into my Nintendo DS .. :D

So besides that insensitive moment with my dad, my birthday has been fairly lovely :)

Tonight I got free tickets to an advance screening of "The Producers" starring Will Ferrell, Matthew Broderick and Uma Thurman.

To the person who gave me those tickets : I will seriously punch you for wasting 2.15 hours of my life, watching and falling asleep to the worst movie/musical I have ever seen.

Note to everyone else : stay away when it comes out in January. You're not going to get any younger watching it.

*bah* I should've stayed home and just watched my k-drama.

~ 7:02 PM ~
As you all know, I am a self-confessed out of control korean drama addict. On the weekend, i watched a total of 12 one hour episodes of What Happened in Bali. I started watching in the evening until 2am, then went to bed, got up at 8am and watched again till i got to episode 17. I would've kept going till the end, if not for the fact i don't actually have episodes 18-20 with me!...

But anyways, whilst living in this korean drama dreamworld, I noticed that it has had a surprisingly (and very sad) impact on my life..

Love and romance

In these dramas, the girl is often torn between two guys. They go through a series of harrowing incidents, many many tears, and in most dramas, end off tragically. Throughout this though, they go through some dramatic moments together, and the boys often do the most fabulous, romantic things and gestures to win the girl over.
.... result: causing unrealistic expectations of crazy drama and gestures in real life.

Drinking Soju

In the midst of deciding who the girl will eventually end up with, and as a result of fighting hard for the girl, the main characters often end up drinking their sorrows away in little street stalls in the middle of the night. Their drink of choice? That famous green 375ml of soju.

... result: We went to drink soju on sunday night.. 375ml shared between 5 people. We drank abotu 3/4 of it (a couple of shots each) and ended up tipsy, red, and far from the depressed and dramatic state expected.

Eating Habits

Having closely examined these korean eating habits, I have noticed that they serve their food straight from the pot (or are too lazy to do otherwise), dig with their spoons, have communal food, and always have kimchi with everything they eat.

... result: I ate dinner tonight from the pot. I felt like i was incredibly manner-less :S I also attempted to dig my food with a spoon from a bowl, but it was just so hard, i made a huge mess of the rice. And kimchi? Unfortunately i am yet to master cooking/making it...

~ 10:02 AM ~
Hi Ho :) Sorry for the very long delay in posting. After exams finished, I sort of just zoned out and took it easy for awhile, but life has been pretty hectic since.

Hmmm a quick run down of what has happened recently:

* Andy's Birthday
Got to catch up with some of the familiar MSU faces that i had gotten to know over the year (especially those young little freshers), and will probably not see often (or even at all) for awhile. Had lots of yummy food, and then the boys played poker, whilst me and Clara ended up watching The Notebook... *hmmz*

* Kaeshyong's Birthday
Well, my little brother (not so little anymore) turned 21 last week. It really has been amazing watching him grow. I know lots of people say that about everyone, but in my brother's case, it really was something amazing. A few years ago, he was off the rails, on the wrong side of the road, and probably headed for a life of disaster and bleak hope. After a shock incident, he completely changed around, and it's been wonderful witnessing the change from that immature and directionless boy to the grown up person that he has become. In those few years, I've watched him take charge of his life, take control of his studies and his future, and witnessed the transformation that saw him change from what some called "the angry little boy" to the lovely, dependable and responsible person that he has become.

So, I definitely think that this particular 21st was a memorable one :)

* Naomi's Birthday
Also turning 21, Naomi has gone through a lot in the last few years too. Having dinner last night, I looked around the room, and noticed that everyone in the room had grown into wonderful people - and Naomi is definitely one of them. It was a lovely close dinner with her family, friends, and church pals, and I hope that there's a whole world of memories out there to be made with this wonderful person who may very well be my sister in law in the near future ;)

* Work
I have finally gotten my hands on the interesting HR stuff that i've always wanted to be doing. Last week, I spent the majority of it writing job descriptions and reading through resumes and conducting interviews to fill the accounts and administration assistant roles that were vacant.

hehe and im no expert but here are some tips:

- DO NOT say that you're a perfectionist when asked "what is your weakness". It is lame, stupid and sooooooooooooo not the truth. It is also tried, tested, and if every second person claims to be a perfectionist, you're really not going to get anywhere

- DO prepare. Don't come in and have no idea why you want the job, why you would be suitable and please show that u have some knowledge of the industry or the company you are going to work for.

- Spell check. I know we're all guilty, but spelling and grammar is scrutinized, especially if you claim to be a "perfectionist" later on.

* Current Affairs
So the major thing that has been on my mind and of great interest in the execution of the Australian-Vietnamese boy in Singapore "Nguyen" as he is known in the media. Whilst i have no qualms about a country enforcing their own rules and laws, I also believe that a government has no right to determine whether one lives or dies. And on principal, I don't believe in the death penalty for the reason that innocent people may be killed .

But anyways, on the morning of his execution (yesterday), I woke up at 5.45 (not intentionally) and the very first thing i thought was "Nguyen is probably walking to the gallows now". It was a really sad thought actually, knowing that someone out there held the precise time that he would die.
oops i have to go. My laptop is running low on batteries. I have to continue this later...

Supa Dupa Girl-Kae is the eldest of three kae's and is therefore the supa dupa one of the lot (as given to me by Alvin). Currently residing in Perth, WA, Girl-Kae is a happy go lucky bubbly girl, who loves to shop, eat, and sleep. When she's not working, she can be found at home being a homebody, glued to the screen watching enormous amounts of drama series, out eating icecreams and cakes, and shopping till her heart's content.
