Hi Hi! My head is really sore.. hahah i'm such a cadbury girl, but last night i had a cranberry and vodka, but specifically asked trevor to tell the barman "half a shot or less only PLeASE" hahah so i ended up with what everyone said tasted like pure cranberry juice . *hmph* There was still a LITTLE bit of alcohol in there. Anyways, i drank about half of it and then got a bit headache and ended up giving it to my brother instead... haha *genius* my brother shook his head as my head getting woozy and throbbing, and my face went bright red and now? mini-headache (no its NOT a hangover) but yes, *sigh*.

My BabylissPro has officially kicked the can and I am muchly too poor to fork out another hundred on a straightener! So.. im stuck with the offshoots my bad hair haha yes, i haven't had a haircut for about 3 months, and the left over bits of the blowwave perm are still evident - see those ugly flicky bits? *sigh* need to get a new straightener :(
Okay , today im going out to buy lots and lots of balls of wool . and im going to attempt to knit cute and wonderful creations.. haha *wishful thinking* but anyways, it will keep me occupied with my headache today ;) Have a good day

Some days, I absolutely love people. Yes, people in general. One friendly person can so easily brighten up your day, and one understanding person can mean the difference between tears and laughter. But there are some days (like today) where humanity just shits me to no end. As a casual job, I work in an agency that provides support and assistance in many forms such as housing, counselling, financial, language support and simple training to people who have been hit by darker times.

Today at work, I noticed a teenage client who had come looking for assistance as she had been kicked out of her home and had nowhere to live, and no means to do so. Im not one of the social workers, but rather, i just do the administration and clerical things such as filing, reports, data and administerial tasks so I can only go by what the reports that the social workers have written. But anyways, this teenage girl (no younger nor older than you or me) had been subjected to what was deemed "incest"/sexual assault by her own family for more than half her life. She suffered from severe emotional problems, and had no money or accommodation to go to. It really outraged me that some people - ESPECIALLY parents - can do such a thing to their own flesh and blood. By becoming parents, you're not only acknowledging that you will bring someone into the world, but you are supposed to care and protect them from the harms and evils that marr it - and if that means yourself, then you should put yourself away!. Geez, the poor girl is now financially, physically and emotionally unstable, and will probably suffer for the rest of her life because of the actions of people that are supposed to be their protectors! *grr*

In another thing, I read that some guy committed suicide in Adelaide by jumping from the top floor of the Myer in front of hundreds of shoppers and passers by. Sure, the guy had issues and obviously didnt care much about life and humanity, but it annoys me that he jumped and committed suicide in front of children and others. Is it really necessary for this man to not only take his own life, but also rage into the nightmares of innocent young children? Perhaps he thought that by doing such a thing, he could show the world how much they had neglected him (though i dont know what his story was).? But does that mean he had the right to potentially ruin other people's lives? GRR

Besides that? hehe well xinmin's in melbourne so i hope she has a fabulous time there meeting the cutie melbourne boys as well as putting some semi effort into working ;) haha but fill us in on the grey "weird-weather" city babe ;)

Also went for a little coffee night on friday night @ orioles, and had a great catchup night with the girls who have all been studying hard *cough* for exams ;). Jess and I shared a decadent mars bar cheesecake *mmm* only to be reminded that i still havent lost those 2kgs that i put on when i was overseas *cry*. But anyways, we gave xin her birthday present - the witchery paula twin strap bag and hugged her goodbye to melbourne !

On saturday I went to help do some msu stuff, only to miss the bus and get there after everyone had left. Also, i forgot my mobile so I roamed around Perth City looking for them. Luckily I bumped into Li Ann otherwise I would've roamed for hours and hours. After that, I met up with Jess and we went to see Sammy to get stuff altered and to shop around :)

Sunday I decided that boys were crap, and should never be spoken again to. But then i changed my mind and had dimsum with one. *lol*.

Anyways, there's two new magazines waiting for me to read so im off! :)

.. last night i went to see Batman Begins @ Greater Union Innaloo, and i have to say, that it is one fabulous movie. Im not too sure whether it was the scripting, the screenplay, or just the mere fact that prequels are always fantastic (i mean, who DOESNT find it fascinating how superheroes began?), but it was fabulously dark, explanatory and brilliant :) Anyways, the actor is relatively unknown, but he has definitely aged since the last time I saw him in anything! Back then, he played a 18 year old in the midst of finding his life's path, and falling in love, and even back then he had that awkward speaking mouth. Ohhh he was a dream back then.. but he's not so good now. Despite the greatness of the film, two things really bugged me

- Alfred (the butler) : his accent sounded really off at times. Im not sure if this is because of a particular background of the actor (cue mischa barton's strange english/american twang), but his speech would go from the thickness of an american accent, to the poshness of the british, and then at times (actually A LOT of the time which is immensely irritating), to the ockerness of the Aussie accent? *strange* and frustrating. I would've expected a very even posh accent, such as Niles from the Nanny :) hehe

- Bruce Wayne's HUGE body : Now, I understand that superheroes, especially those that don jet black structured costumes with outlines of pecs, should undoubtedly be quite built (except for scrawny little spiderman), but this guy's body was just huge. The scenes when he's lying in bed and gets up, his triceps, his pecs, his shoulders - EVERYTHING - it just bulges. And not in a good way either :) haha. Yes, I analyse too much :)

But yes, please go see it if you're a superhero flicks person ;)

On other news, I went to see my course advisor today and she said that the computer printout must've been a glitch. I do have enough points to graduate at the end of the year (actually i could've last year) so i'm fine! *yay*. But after talking to her, I realized how much I love studying psychology, and how little I dont want to spend the rest of my life in a commerce field. So, I might actually consider taking up honours in psychology after I graduate.. because then i'd be doing something I enjoy, even if it takes longer to achieve :)

Also, I was reading "Focus" magazine which is about humanitarian aid and welfare, and it made me really want to get out there and help these people. So i thought to myself - what can i offer? Afterall, if im just a commerce graduate, I could perhaps market the aid programs, but essentially, Id love to have some sort of medical background to help those with little medical facilities around, and who cannot afford expensive operations. But of course, Im certainly not a doctor, and will not even attempt to be purely because I can't stand studying human biology that sort of thing. So, I was thinking that maybe I could use my psychology degree and when I have enough money to travel and help out on these aid missions, I could use it in some way to assist.

haha yes, im full of grand plans and missions. And i never do it. Hmm. Maybe I should set some goals and stick to it yeh?

Okay, Ive got an msu meeting to run off to now, and I'm out for xinmin's 22nd birthday tonight before she heads off to melbourne. :) Catcha later!

*sigh* winter is well and truly here. :( At first I was extremely excited by the prospect of heavy rainfalls and dreary weather as it meant that I could wear my gumboots (still relative virgins i'm afraid), but with winter comes kae's shocking winter skin, plagued by the nasty rash inducing condition that we call "eczema". *sigh*. To add to that is pimple prone skin synonymous with exams, and the product? A walking red rashy pimple... *cry*. Oh wellz. Hopefully my cream will soothe the itchiness before I scrape out my eyes :S

Ive always had eczema since the beginning of time, and it has always plagued me during the cooler winter months. When I was little, I had it on my neck , and as I grew up, I got it on my elbows and knees the most.. and now, I get it at the most visible place of all - the face. *sigh*. Apparently people grow out of it, but at 21 years young (!), there is still no sign of it scurrying away into the realm of time.. instead, it returns, annually during the colder months ... :(

Ohkay, enough ranting about my little skin condition :)

Anyways, today I was out with Jez, and we bumped into Christine, Pauline and Chen Piew at Zomp Shoez. It was so great to see them as I havent seen them for almost 6 months (they are now working), so having bumped into them and catching up with them was so refreshing. haha saying good things about you christine ;) Anyways, the thing that stood out the most from our catchup session was the level of antagonism towards working life, the daily 9 to 5 (and overtime) grind, and the routine that comes with such a life. *sigh*. I hope working wont be like that always, and I hope that there's more to the future than jobs. :)

okay, i have to go make dinner now :) And I'm off to see Batman Begins tonight *oOOoH*. Excited :) Oh, and my boyfriend wants to buy a skateboard (*BOO* but ill keep you updated on my attempts at convincing him otherwise heeh).

Okay, have a great night people :)

haha sorry bryan - ive been super duper busy, so havent had a chance to really stop and chit chat.. but its over so im free!

Anyways, yes my exams are all over! :) Well at least for this semester. And how did I think i went? Generally, I think I did okay although the marketing research multiple choice was incredibly hard :S Oh wellz, at least its over for the semester. But on other news, I was looking at the new UWA studentconnect website, and according to that, I still need to complete three psychology units in order to graduate.

... now this is where it gets confusing. I have actually done EVERY single psychology unit there is that is currently being offered by UWA, from first year psychology to third year units. I even got a phone call last year from the science dean saying that if I wanted to, I could graduate with my Science degree last year (not my commerce one though).. so that leads me to utter confusion. According to the website, I havent got enough points to graduate. According to science, I have (or did). So im both worried, and confused at the moment. I sincerely hope that I won't have to stay back and complete extra units! I really do hope that this is my last year and I'll graduate by then :S

*eeep*. Anyways, I have so many things to do this week ! Well, not "things to do" as in the sorts that you busy lot have to do, but the "things to do" that us lazy types need to do. So far on my list:

So yes.. that is my week ahead... :) Adios!

PS. A little bit about the MSU FUnction coming up: "InnerRhythm". RnB function at the new BluPrint nightclub (old Marble Bar), on Wednesday 29th June 2005. Tickets $10 each or buy 5 and get 1 free :) Cheapo drinks all night long :) Tickets - Call / Msg me :)

For anyone that knows me, they would probably think im the worst ever homemaker type around. Whenever my sister asks about what I will do when I grow up, I always reply "hire a chef, a maid, a nanny and a dogwalker" hehe .. but recently, ive been on the lookout for some mittens to keep my icey hands warm during the cooler months. After scouring the shops, I have found a gorgeous pair of Mimco mittens but I dont want to spend $40 for mittens, some cute detachable type mittens at Accessorize (QUan's going to buy those for me!) and some funny looking funky types at Studio 388 which isnt really my style..

So i got to thinking, Im going to attempt to *knit* a mitten. I told my family and no one had ANY faith in my knitting skills, or homemaking skills whatsover. So I thought to myself(as any childish immature brat thinks) : "IM GOING TO SHOW YOU!" haha.. So off I went to google knitting patterns and I downloaded and printed off two. The first one was a complete and utter mess, I ended up with two thumbs, then ended up with half a thumb, then I just gave up and threw the pattern away. The second pattern was much more easier, and after 4 hours of knitting (haha yes im slow) i managed to knit myself a "right hand" mitten.

Sure, the lines are crooked, the colour is awful , the texture is not as soft as id like, but they were my first practice mitten. Unfortunately because of the texture, Ive decided to use them as exfoliating gloves instead (haha that's how rough they are) and im going to go out and buy some nice new wool to make mittens. *wooHOO*

[Note: if my pics dont work, please just click "show picture" - it does that sometimes]

On wednesday night we went to the Trinity College (one of the international colleges at UWA) for their multicultural dinner. Its basically a night for all the international studies from all over the world - France, Singapore, Malaysia, USA, Africa, Japan, Europe - get together, dress up in all kinds of strange outfits that are supposed to represent the different cultures and have a night of dinner, and LOTS of alcohol..

When we got there at about 7pm, the main dinner hall was already wreaking of alcohol, and outside, there were small puddles of food/alcohol vomit signalling the start (and the end for some) of a crazy night. Besides that, the hall was decorated by many flags (to symbolise the diversity of cultures at Trinity College), as well as little oriental lanterns etc... *cheap decorations* ...The costumes ranged from non-dressed up people, to mandatory cheongsums from the Asian lot, to crazy togas from some of the Aussies, and there were some random other outfits such as aussies in rice hats, a RAIDEN (from mortal kombat), people that were basically half naked and some girls who decided to just dress up and pretend it was a dinner dance/cocktail event.. :)

The Yaolin boys performed two liondances, much to the appreciation of drunken international students, whilst the photo opportunity afterwards provided them with some close contact with half-naked people, drunk people insisting that they should RIDE the lion, and of course, some tame people :)

Unfortunately, i wasnt able to take some good shots because the night mode of my camera kept making it "shake" and when i turned the flash off, it just went dark.. so here are some random pics from the night :)

Yes yes.. im not blogging properly.. but im completely tired, overworked and fatigued. It's the end of semester which means exam preparation and finishing off last assignments. It's all very stressful, with everyday ending at about 8pm and then going back home to finish things until midnight or even past that, then waking up again at about 8am to go to uni for non-stop group meetings, lectures and final tutorials.

I cant wait for the semester break where I can then catch up on my emails, my phone calls, my blogs, my sleep, my life... *sigh*.
