Lately ive become more and more fascinated with the japanese culture, and the people, and basically everything Japanese. Part of this interest can be attributed to christine's blog as at JET in Japan, but also in my coversations with Mike, who has also been interested in Japan/China/Taiwan. All these discussions with people have made me more and more open to new things, and especially interested in immersing myself in the culture that is japanese - inherently strange and wacky yet extremely polite, western and modernised by asian standards but eastern and asian by western standards - To me, Japan doesnt seem to fit into any other culture category. It's as if its a whole other world, a world far removed from every other nation on this planet - and that's what makes me want to go to Japan!

I did get my nova application forms last month, but unfortunately I am not eligible to apply for the nova program just yet because the requirements have changed such that I now require a degree before I actually apply.. JET has yet to open, but im quite scared of the JET program application process because so many people apply, and yet so few actually proceed to go to Japan.. *eek*. But all in all, the idea and notion of being in another country, learning the culture, teaching them your own, and being a free spirit really excited me! It's so far removed from the daily 9-5 grind that is corporate life, and I guess being the uncommitted one that "never wants to grow up", it seems like an adventure to be had :)

That said, even if I dont get to do the teaching in Japan program, Im hoping to go to Japan next year with Jezka as her brother is currently doing the Nova program over there. *OOOH* excitement.!

Supa Dupa Girl-Kae is the eldest of three kae's and is therefore the supa dupa one of the lot (as given to me by Alvin). Currently residing in Perth, WA, Girl-Kae is a happy go lucky bubbly girl, who loves to shop, eat, and sleep. When she's not working, she can be found at home being a homebody, glued to the screen watching enormous amounts of drama series, out eating icecreams and cakes, and shopping till her heart's content.
