My first week of Project 365 went okay. I carried my digital camera with me everywhere and I tried super hard to take interesting pics of things that occurred during my day, but I failed because 1. I was embarassed to take out my camera every single time, and 2. because there just wasn't that many interesting pics to take.. (that and the fact i'm a bad photographer so when i did try to take pics, they turned out terribly anyway).
Anyways, this is a shortened week of piccies too because my sister had to borrow my camera for camp on the weekend, and I haven't yet found an SLR camera that was under my budget and must be from David Jones (I have a gift voucher to use so I refuse to buy it from anywhere else - too bad all the SLR's in DJ's are 1000+ or over!!)... SO here they are (and the stories to go with)...
So, the weekend started (and ended) in a pile of heat and sweat. It went from very cool during the week, to very hot during the weekend. Luckily for my oily skin, my sister went a little crazy when I asked her to buy me a couple "J&J blotting papers" ... no no, she decided that I needed about 16 to get me through the next 6 months or so (they aren't all in the photos - some are at work, some opened already).. I think she's trying to tell me my face is too greasy :(

Weekends are also an excuse for me to bake some treats for the week ahead - little cupcakes that we can nibble on during the week, and some that we can take to work, to school or just to play. This week, I attempted the ginger and rhubarb cupcakes from my trusted 500 Cupcakes book... it was supposed to look like this (below).. unfortunately, it ended up in the bin due to ginger overload - you could cry eating my ginger cupcakes :S

Thursday 18th was also my daddy's birthday, and that meant lots of yummies to eat! We went out for chinese food that night, and gobbled down a variety of noodles and drank good ol' fashioned coconut juice to cool us down.
"prosperity cakes", and there was the always trusted, always yummy My dad also got a whole bunch of cakes - the coffee torte from his girlfriend is pictured below. I love pretty cakes with lots of nuts and goodies to crunch on , but unfortunately, this cake just tasted like cream.. (as you can tell by the photo). There were asian little desserts, and asiancorica apple strudel - which I am not proud to say, but of which I have eaten approximately 1/2 of it since thursday. Everyone else managed to savour the other cakes, and watch what they ate :S

I also took a picture of my knitting... A lot of people know that i knit (and they aren't ashamed to giggle and snicker at me either ! *ahem* hehehe), and have asked me what i've been knitting etc... So I thought i'd take a picture of what I'm currently working on - this cute little cardi.
I'm not sure if the cardi will even be flattering (it goes halfway up my waist), but I am the first to say, that that girl in the picture is hot - and perhaps I'm hoping that the finished cardi will look half as good on me as it will on her.. hehe

So there you go - week 1 of project 365 completed. It's been fun, and it certainly helps me see what I've been up to, and helped me blog a random blog.Labels: project 365
