Last night I went to a work do with the theme "Seventies". Of course, we all had to dress up in our massive flares, platforms, bad hair days and just crazy outfits. Having been only exposed to very "asian" attitudes of "nah i dont want to dress up because ill look like a dag, or im too cool to dress up" I found it extremely interesting at how much effort the aussies put into their costumes, and to basically making the most out of their night. They had gone all out - from hiring costumes from the costume shop, to raiding op shops and their parent's old wardrobes, just to find the perfect 70's outfit. Im glad i didnt succumb to the attitude of not dressing up, because when I got there, the place was decked out in retro disco lights, crazy 70's music, and even more interesting people!

My costume was rather tame in comparison to theirs - I wore flares, platforms, a white tunic and one of those plaited headbands over very very flat middle parted hair. There were guys dressed up as John Travolta in his hey-day, there were crazy disco-stu types, hippy flower children, and one guy who i think thought I was nuts - He was wearing a crazy wig, and had painted his entire face ghostly white.

When I was talking to him I asked "so is this clown makeup of yours reminiscent of something from the seventies"..

*BLANK STARE*

Him (Paul) - "Are you serious? hehe you're obviously not a child from the seventies" and then he proceeded to stick out a long tongue, and then said "KISS".,.

Didnt i feel stupid?!

ANyways, I got tons to do today so have a great day :) (Btw, sorry i didnt take photos - my digicam seems to have died on me)

Supa Dupa Girl-Kae is the eldest of three kae's and is therefore the supa dupa one of the lot (as given to me by Alvin). Currently residing in Perth, WA, Girl-Kae is a happy go lucky bubbly girl, who loves to shop, eat, and sleep. When she's not working, she can be found at home being a homebody, glued to the screen watching enormous amounts of drama series, out eating icecreams and cakes, and shopping till her heart's content.
