I have decided (again) that I will definitely go get
lasik sometime soon. The other day, I went to order my brand new contacts and found out that the price was approximately 340 for a 6 month supply (or 680 yearly). My dad used to pay for my contacts so i never knew how much they cost, but now that I'm working, i think we have a silent agreement that i pay for my things which is fair enough. Outraged at the cost of contact lenses, I shopped around, and found that I could purchase them for 210 for a 6 month supply, so i did, and in the process saved myself over $100! *woot*
They were supposed to arrive immediately as i paid extra for express post, but it arrived one week later (as does regular delivery) and I was *NOT* happy. I would've liked to have clear new contacts for the ball on friday night, and for Vu's 22nd Birthday on Saturday night. Instead, they arrived yesterday (GRR), and I was left crying my little eyes out at Vu's birthday. Fortunately, Vu (and half of his friends) are pharmacy graduates, so some of them had some stock in their car from their pharmacies, and one lady gave me some little eye drops for my sore little eyes. How annoying *hmph*.
And, today, I noticed my eyes are getting even more drier than they usually are because my office has their central cooling/heating system on all day - hence, drying out my already dry eyes.
Then , when i got home, I noticed a little slip that i had written 9 months ago when I was in singapore - that told me to go get Lasik surgery. At a cost of $3500 for both eyes, i think it is very worth it for the convenience of perfect vision, the future cost savings, and just so that I dont ever have to worry about crying in front of people for no apparent reason!!! *grr*.
So Im going to book myself a little appointment (maybe after i finish uni in late november) and treat myself to a little christmas pressie, depending on what my optometrist/consultant says. :)
